INSTALLATION TIPS (Tien) (confirmed to work with CxOffice 3.0.0, and should work with all versions above 3.0):NOTE: I have Ebible from Thomas Nelson, which uses Libronix. So, yes, Ebible for Windows also works, as it runs on the same platform (Libronix).
Anyway, for those needing this right now, let me give a few heads up...
1. I installed IE 6.0 prior to installing Ebible. IE 5 is a minimum requirement for Libronix. So, do this first. It will also install DCOM95.
2. Install Libronix/LOGOS/Ebible. It will end correctly, but you have to click on the 'Installation Completed' and say yes.
3. The desktop icon will say something like: '/home/celestial/cxoffice/bin/wine' --workdir 'C://Program Files//Libronix DLS//System//' --check --cx-app 'C://WINDOWS//SYSTEM//start.exe' -- C:WINDOWSDesktopLibronix Digital Library System.lnk
(celestial is my username for this example).
I had to change it to read as follows before it worked: '/home/celestial/cxoffice/bin/wine' --workdir 'C://Program Files//Libronix DLS//System//' LDLS.exe
UPDATE: With CxOffice 4.1, I did not have to perform the above, as the link created worked fine.
4. Run it! Enjoy! Activation works, copying resources to hard disk works.
Libronix Resources are Missing or Not Discovered Problem: Resources are missing from My Library that have already been copied to the hard drive. I first encountered Logos Bible Software in the Libronix days—in what historians of technology now call “the 1990s.” I somehow came into possession of some random CDs with Logos books on them.
COPYING RESOURCES TO HD (Tien)
At least on ver 3.0.0 of CxOffice, I ran into big trouble when I changed CD while Libronix was running. If you have a Libronix product with more than one CD (from Logos or Thomas Nelson), I recommend:
1. Copy resources for the first CD.
2. Quit libronix. Eject CD and place second CD.
3. Run Libronix again. Copy resources for the second CD.
4. Repeat steps for remaining CDs.
TOOL TIPS/CROSS REFERENCES (Tien)
The 'tooltips' that display when you place the mouse over a 'hotspot' will display with a black box above the text rendering it unreadable. However, you still have full access to the content.
If the 'tooltip' is a cross reference to a passage or book section, clicking on it will open a new window (or use an existing window, if already open) to display the passage.
If the 'tooltip' is a footnote, or a list of cross-references, clicking on it will redisplay the tooltip, making it readable this time!
So, the moral of the story is, if you cannot see the tooltip, just click on it. :)
